We'll tell you all about it at French Market :
History of the Varsity Jacket : the Varsity Jacket originated on the Harvard University campus for baseball players.
This still little-known jacket was flanked by a letter H on the chest, which only the best players were allowed to keep at the end of the year.
From the 1930s onwards, the Varsity Jacket took on its current form, as we know it today: A two-tone, button-down jacket featuring a lettering in the colors of the various universities.
Twenty years later, the Varsity Jacket is marketed in Europe, much to our delight!
Still worn today on American campuses, the Varisty Jacket , or Teddy Jacket , has become a fashion classic, constantly updated by numerous brands and designers.
Material : historically, the varsity jacket has always been two-tone. It's made of wool, satin or leather, more rarely cotton twill. Sometimes different materials are combined for a stylish effect.
The cut is full and short, with set-in or raglan sleeves and a shirt or baseball collar.
